Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh), visit to Antarctica

Prince Philip traveled with the Royal Yacht Britannia in 1956 to Australia, Antarctica and more for a few months without Queen Elizabeth. He was closely involved in the design of this yacht. The Duke of Edinburgh called the long voyage a ″diplomatic mission″ and traveled forty thousand miles. The Duke became the first member of the British Royal Family to cross the Antarctic Circle. The captured photos show him close to Adélie penguins.
